H.E.F. was conceived on October 14, 2008 in response to the ever present social, economic, spiritual and educational demand in Haiti. Presently, we are working together with Reverend Dr. Lemaire Alerte and L'Institut Manahiem in Grande Saline, Haiti. L'institut Manahiem is a Junior High School that was created to meet the educational needs of students who could not afford to attend school beyond the 6th grade. The students currently range in age from 16-25 years of age. All proceeds from the fundraising events subsidize the construction, meals, payroll, school uniforms and school supplies of L'institut Manahiem as well as the upcoming projects. Hopefully with your continued support of future events, we pray that we will duplicate our efforts.   As a result of the recent earthquake in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, Grande Saline has received an influx of evacuee's needing food, housing, medical care as well as education.  As of February 2, 2010, L'institut Manahiem will open it's doors accept 10th, 11th, and 12th graders.  H.E.F is also working towards opening a community center that will offer vocational training.  The community center will also house a medical clinic, where residents can have their medical needs cared for as well as a food pantry.  It is common knowledge throughout the world now that Haiti has an even greater population of orphans since the earthquake of January 12, 2010.  H.E.F. will be opening an orphanage to provide care to children who have lost their parents and caregivers.  H.E.F. is also looking to purchase farm land in order to produce food for the community.  The residents of the community would be trained in working the farm, producing products and making a profit.  All of the projects that H.E.F funds will be designed to provide jobs, boost the economy and make the residents of Grande Saline more self-sufficient.
